Without doubt Billy Wilder’s 1957 Witness for the Prosecution is the finest courtroom drama ever made, at least in our opinion. Starring Tyrone Power, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Laughton and Elsa Lanchester, it is based on Agatha Christie’s short story and highly successful stage play of the same name.
