This week’s FILM TALK takes a look at Up, a spectacular 3D computer-animated comedy adventure produced by Pixar Animation Studios in 2009, which we think deserves to go on our list of the 100 greatest films ever made (in our opinion).
The film centres around Carl Fredricksen, an elderly widower played by Ed Asner, and an earnest you boy scout called Russell, voiced by Jordan Nagai.
Having lost his wife Ellie, Carl is determined to have one more adventure and fulfil a promise he made to her to see the wilds of South America. So Carl ties thousands of helium balloons to his house in order to be able to fly all the way to Argentina.
The film, directed by Pete Docter, tells a charming and heart-warming story of hope, friendship and loyalty.
A Film Talk classic movie review. FILM TALK is all about us reviewing and appreciating the greatest films ever made. Each week we publish a new video reviewing and discussing a different classic film that is destined for our list of the 100 greatest films in cinema history, at least the greatest films in our opinion.
