In this special edition of #FILMTALK we celebrate an absolute classic. Based on the book by Christianna Brand, Green for Danger is a British thriller directed by Sidney Gilliat and starring Alistair Sim, Sally Gray, Trevor Howard, Rosamund John, Leo Genn.
The film is set in a rural hospital in England during the last years of the Second World War. When a patient mysteriously dies on the operating table, one nurse fears that he was murdered. She makes the mistake of telling people about her concerns and one night is also murdered in the operating theatre. Alistair Sim plays Inspector Cockerill from Scotland Yard, who is sent to the hospital to investigate.
